Mthandeni SK, also known as Igcokama Elisha, released his eighth studio album named “Amakhothangqoko” under his independent record label “Mthandeni Music Production” on August 12, 2023. This album has been a huge success since its release, generating an incredible amount of leads and traffic. One of the singles from the album, “Paris,” which was released before the complete album, has become a household name in South Africa between 2023 and 2024.
Commercial/Streaming Performance:
The album’s commercial and streaming performance has been remarkable, and it shows no signs of slowing down. “Amakhothangqoko” has garnered over 18 million streams on Spotify and over 26 million streams on YouTube within less than eight months of its release. “Paris” has over 18 million views on YouTube, 12 million plus views on Spotify, and over 4 million streams on Apple Music in eight months. Other singles from the album, such as “Mubi Kamnandi” with 2.8 million views on YouTube and “Sakhulela” with over 1.2 million views, have also been well-received by the audience. Furthermore, the song “Paris” has been in Ukhozi FM’s Top 20 songs from August 2023 to date.
